That same community, as you can see from the image below has made me $1,000 this month (all from advertising).

Now, this amount of money isn’t going to set anyone from from their work life, but it ads up when you remain consistent. Imagine where that will be in 6 months… 12 months…

That’s the entire idea and what I’m testing. Is it possible to take COMPLETELY cold advertising on Facebook and sell a program where people will pay monthly to be a part of my community.

So far, the answer is yes…

I know, it’s crazy… but let me explain how I am doing it.

I’ve long been a believer that in order to get people to give you money, you need to build trust… the way you build trust with someone is through “low expense” transactions. At least, that’s the easiest way I’ve found.

Sure, you could make a bunch of content and hope that works… but I suck at that so I go directly to transacting.

So I created a low cost product I could advertise and sell for $27. This gets people to start the trust transaction. They see the product and think “that’s pretty affordable, why not”.

The issue most people have when selling online is they are charging too much for their product, so their customers have to think long and hard about whether it seems worth it and whether you are trustworthy.

I like to make this easy… get a small transaction first and make sure your product delivers.

In the case of selling the community, I add that as an order bump on the order page. Order bumps are CRUCIAL to increasing average order value.

This is what mine looks like. So as people are already getting in on the first trust transaction, they can ADD other products to their order that help them get closer to their goals.

You wouldn’t believe it if you didn’t see it for yourself, but 42% of people who buy my $27 product add this $40/ mo community.

If I can BREAK EVEN getting sales month 1, I profit month 2… but I also COMPOUND That because I’ve got a second month breaking even. So if I can get 100 members a month at breakeven… eventually that would be 600 members (in 6 months). If 500 stay, that’s $20,000 in recurring revenue.

Wild right? Well… not really.

I actually learned this idea another marketer in the space when I saw them selling access to a 3 day event for $100.. but then they were selling access to the replays for ANOTHER $100.

I had never heard of that before. Charging people for access and then charging them again for the replays? I thought, why not try to do better? If people are willing to pay for a replay to an event they already paid for… maybe they’d be willing to pay monthly for a lot better access.

Our community does WAY more than just provide access to replays so we have an advantage there.

The one question a lot of people have, when I tell them they can sell a community and make money every month, is “Ok, but what am I giving them every month that will make them stay?”

Good question…

There are 14 things you “give them” and I’d say most of them cost you nothing. You’re already doing most of them now ANYWAY.

The key thing to remember here is that you need to provide value, to PROVIDE value you must first DEFINE value.

Value = Saving Someone Time or Saving Someone Effort

If you can save someone TIME or EFFORT you have value.

So the community should be all about saving people TIME and EFFORT… therefore they get value and stick around.

If you want a real online business you need recurring income. There’s no way around that. You shouldn’t have to slave EVERY DAY for new sales. That gets exhausting. Instead, create something you sell once and get paid on over and over again.

If it wasn’t on your radar before, you should really give some thought to “could I host a community that people would pay for in the _______ niche”. Whatever you love doing, create a community and start telling people about it. Start at $7/ mo and raise the price every 10 members, that’ll add scarcity and help you get those early buyers, and they won’t want to leave because they can’t get that price again.

Eventually you find yourself with 50 members and you’re making several hundred dollars a month, now you have more time and money to invest in building more resources to make the community better.

But it all starts by just making the community and telling people about it.
